""Because he loves Me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges My name. He will call on Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation""- Psalms 91:14-16 (NIV).
The Bible is God's love letter to us. So many of the Scriptures focus on God's love for us; his mercy and grace poured out on us, but today's Scripture is God's reaction to our loving Him. God is not saying, "because He loves us," but "because we love Him" Think about it. Omnipotent God desires our love; the Creator of all things longs to experience our love. Look at His reaction in today's Scripture. Reread it as if God were speaking of you. Hillsong sings the song, Jesus, Lover of My Soul. It's a love song for God. If you know the song, sing along; if not, let the words sink in and pour them back out to the Father. His desire is for you and your love.
Jesus, Lover of my soul,
Jesus, I will never let You go
You've taken me from the miry clay
You've set my feet upon the Rock, and now I know.
I love You, I need You,
Though my world may fall, I'll never let You go
My Savior, my closest Friend,
I will worship You until the very end.
