"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass always, but whoever does the will of God lives forever"- 1 John 2:15-17 (NIV).
It can be rather difficult to be obedient and live a self-controlled, upright, and godly life in this world (Titus 2:12). Our senses are assaulted daily with the available treasures of this world. We want the best phone, technology, car, education, job, vacation, marriage, children, health, income. Our lists are filled with the things of this world we seek; we love; we lust after. We are supposed to set our minds on things above, not things of this world (Colossians 3:2). Have you ever wondered what you would change in your life if you could go back and start anew? Everyone has; and everyone will have the same wistful thoughts at the end of their earthly life. Now is the time to live the life, doing the will of God, where you will not find yourself longing to recapture time; instead, "Turn your eyes upon Jesus...and the things of this earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace (Hillsong).
