One and Only Guide

"In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps"- Proverbs 16:9 (NIV).

My husband and I visited Italy for a once-in-a-life adventure years ago. We didn't speak Italian, nor did we know where we were going. Thankfully we had Georgio and his wife, Bruna, as traveling companions. They were our guides and we trusted them and followed them. We were blessed to see parts of Italy most tourists never see because they're off the beaten path, places where only an Italian would know the way. We would never have had that adventure without our Italian guides. This can be applied to our heavenly Guide who is helping us navigate this life. Jesus said: "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6). Believers only need to trust and follow Him; then they will see places only Christians will ever see, places off the beaten path, because Jesus will establish their steps to and through the narrow gate. "For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it" (Matthew 7:13). You'll never reach your desired destination without following Jesus: the One and only Guide you'll ever need.
