Leave It

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God"- Philippians 4:6 (NIV).

The things we allow to bother us shrink in importance when taken to the Cross. There, Jesus invites us to lay them down where they pale in comparison to the blessings God has in store for those who persevere. Here is a segment of the lyrics to a great worship song, "Lead Me to the Cross": "Lead me to the Cross, where His loved poured out. Bring me to my knees, Lord, I lay me down. Rid me of myself, I belong to You. Lead me, lead me to the Cross" (Hillsong United). God went to great lengths to redeem you for Himself. Are you anxious? Take it, on your knees, to the foot of the Cross and leave it there. One last jewel from Hillsong's lyrics: "Everything I once held dear I count it all as loss." With that truth, trust the Lord by not picking it back up; leave it.
