“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light….Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him”-Luke 8:16, 18.
We are the lamp.  We reflect the Light shining on us, through us, and out to others. The more we shine, the brighter we become (“whoever has will be given more”).  But the reverse is true.  If we hide our light, our flame will diminish, because “what [we] think [we have] will be taken from [us].” God ignited our flame, but we have free-will to shine or not.  The Word also says God might extinguish our flame, or sadly our small flame will just burn without serving the purpose it was designed to accomplish, to become a flaming torch. Brothers and sisters, set the world on fire..for God and let it shine bright for Him.
