Will of God

"For everything in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever"- 1 John 2:16-17 (NIV).

What is the will of God? According to 1 Thessalonians 5:18, it is giving thanks in all circumstances. Tired of all the work it takes to survive in this world? Thank Jehovah-Jireh, your Provider. It is He who meets your needs. Tired of the stress in your life: Thank Jehovah-Shalom, your Peace, for holding you through the storms of life. Tired of accusations from others and from yourself? Thank Jehovah-Tsidkenu, your Justifier. He will defend you in this battle; you only need to show up. Tired of feeling all alone in this world? Thank Jehovah-Shammah, because He is forever near; you are never alone, never forsaken. Tired of losing the battles? Thank Jehovah-Nissi, your Conqueror. The war has already been won. Eternity is promised to those who do the will of God: Being thankful in all circumstances. The world and its desires are shaken by a thankful heart; which makes for a nice little treat as they pass away.
