"I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength"- Philippians 4:12-13 (NIV).
You prefer plenty and being well fed, but you should also meet the less bountiful days with joy. It's a test of faith. The testing of our faith produces steadfastness, which once in effect, transforms you, completes you, so that you are lacking nothing. Don't lose heart. Though your outer body wastes away, your inner self is being renewed day by day. These light momentary afflictions are preparing for you for an eternal glory that is beyond comprehension (2 Corinthians 4:16-17). Paul learned the secret of being content through it all. He realized he could endure whatever his circumstances by having faith in Jesus. It is Christ who gives the strength. Have faith that He is with you; He alone will uphold you with His righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).
